Seeing confidence in young girls is always such a ray of sunshine in my day. There is so much negativity going around these days about girls' and women's bodies that it's so, so good to see that young girls are starting to feel good about themselves and not care as much what others think.
Some girls think that the longer their hair is, the more beautiful they will be. If that's just her personal opinion because she likes her hair, then that's all well and good. However, if she keeps her hair long only because she thinks that others think that is the standard of beauty, then that's when we run into a problem.
This young girl has some very lovely, long red locks of hair. Her ponytail reaches all the way down to her hips! Many girls and women would envy that beautiful shiny auburn hair.
However, this 6-year-old is more than ready to part ways with those luscious locks in order to help out a sick girl in need. In fact, she's even excited for the change.
As Mom gets ready to make the big cut, you can tell that she herself is a bit nervous, perhaps some emotional attachment to her daughter's hair. But, her young girl assures her that she's definitely ready to let go of those inches.
The best part of this video is when Mom picks up her daughter so she can take a look at herself in the mirror. Just listen to what she says!
This definitely put a smile on my face.
