Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding is sure to be a major worldwide event, much like Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding in 2011. But Prince Harry won't be following exactly in his brother's footsteps for his own nuptials.
Even though the wedding is still five months away, new details are starting to emerge about many aspects of the special day. As it turns out, there are quite a few key decisions that are completely different from the previous royal wedding.
From a smaller venue, funkier flavored cake, and more, the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be unlike 2011's ceremony.
While Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding won't be as extravagant as Prince William's, it will be televised for every royal-family enthusiast to enjoy. Like his brother, Prince Harry wants the public to feel as much a part of their special day as family and friends.

1. The Engagement Was Announced Further From The Wedding
Prince Harry and Prince William both announced their engagements in November (November 27 and November 16, respectively).
Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding was just five months from the engagement announcement. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is happening six months after.
2. The Royal Family Is Paying For The Wedding
Prince William and Kate's wedding was reportedly paid for by her parents and Prince Charles and the Queen. But a royal expert told CNN that the royal family alone will be paying for Prince Harry's wedding.
3. There Will Be Less Dignitaries Invited
Since Prince Harry will most likely never rule (he's fifth in line), there is less of a need to invite hundreds of dignitaries and members of other royal families to the wedding.
4. There Will Be More Celebrities At The Wedding
Because Meghan is a Hollywood actress, she's made a ton of friends in the business who will be on the guest list.
5. Prince William Will Not Be Prince Harry's Best Man
There is technically no position called the "best man" at royal weddings, just "supporters." But during his wedding, Prince William broke tradition and called his brother his "best man."
It's reported that Prince Harry will be using the traditional term.
6. The Wedding Will Be More Low-Key
Everyone probably remembers how huge of an event Prince William and Kate's wedding was, but the new royal wedding won't be as grand of an event.
Again, this is mostly due to the fact that Prince Harry will likely never be the monarch.
7. The Wedding Won't Be A Bank Holiday
The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was declared a bank holiday where residents had the day off.
British Prime Minister Teresa May announced that citizens would not get the day off from work to attend the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
8. They're Ditching A Traditional Wedding Cake
The Telegraph reports that according to a source, the couple has said they'd love their wedding cake to be banana.
In the past, royals typically go with traditional fruit cake that lasts longer when frozen. This is because unlike couples who eat the top tier on their first anniversary, the royals save it until the christening of their first child.
9. They Are Being Wed In A Smaller Chapel
Prince Harry and Meghan will be getting married over 45 minutes from Buckingham Palace at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
The chapel seats around 800 people, whereas Prince William's wedding location of Westminster Abbey seats over 2,000 people.
10. There Will Be No Balcony Kiss
Like Prince William and Kate Middleton and Princess Diana and Prince Charles, the Buckingham Palace balcony kiss is iconic.
Sadly, Prince Harry and Meghan won't be going to the palace to partake in the tradition because it's too far away.
11. There Will Be No Processional Through London
Unlike Prince William and Kate, who came back to Buckingham Palace for their kiss and procession through the city, it's unlikely that Prince Harry and Meghan will do the same because the chapel is too far away.
