A little girl with autism waited patiently in line to meet Santa — not to ask Santa for anything but to ask Santa what he wanted himself for Christmas. But when she finally got to the front of the line, she was turned away because she with her with service dog, a sweet pit bull, because to her dismay, Santa was afraid of the dog.
Abcde Santos, 7, was with her family and her service dog Pupcake, when, according to their Facebook page, Santa refused to take a picture wit her because "those dogs eat people." Santa and his elf refused to even wave at the little girl and brought her to tears. She was heartbroken!
According to the family, the little girl wasn't able to make emotional connections until Pupcake joined the family. Since then, the pair have been inseparable. The family hopes to educate others about pit bulls, noting that it's the owner, not the breed, that makes a dangerous dog.
The mall reached out to the girl and her family and invited her to a private visit with Santa, saying the dog was welcome. They also announced in a statement that Santa and the elf were fired. Those grinches in disguise got what they deserved!
