Recent photos that surfaced of Jack Brooksbank on a yacht off the coast of Capri with topless and scantily clad women looked pretty bad for the Princess of York's marriage.
Many were surprised to see the pictures of Princess Eugenie's husband with his arm around a woman in a bikini as he talked to another topless woman. Many felt sorry for Eugenie, who was presumed to be home with their 5-month-old son, August.
Later reports suggested that Jack was working on business while Eugenie spent time with friends in Ibiza. Jack was in the area as part of his job as European brand director of Casamigos Tequila. He attended the UNICEF Summer Gala, before which the photos were taken.
Many have been worried for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's marriage after a salacious series of photos came out. The photos show Jack on a yacht off the coast of Capri with three women in bikinis, one of whom was topless.
Eugenie gave birth to the couple's first child, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, in February. While some thought the photos of the new dad were certainly indicative of trouble, other people can't imagine Jack being that kind of guy.
Reportedly, Eugenie was in Ibiza with friends as Jack attended the event in Italy. The two had previously been in Italy together. Regardless of if it was anything more than what appeared in the photos, many felt it wasn't a good look.
Sarah Ferguson, Eugenie's mom, has stepped in to defend her son-in-law against the speculation and rumors.
"Jack, who was on the front page, is a man of such integrity," she told the Daily Mail.
"He's just one of my most favourite people, I call him James Bond actually. He's just a superhero in my book, and he's a great father, a fabulous husband, and he's never at front of house, he always likes to be at the back."
"So for them to make this story is completely fabricated, he works as an ambassador for Casamigos, and he was on doing his job, and so I think it's really important that we clarify that for Jack's sake," she continued.
There's been no further comment from royal corners about the photos, but it will be interesting to see if it blows over.
