When Sayeh Rivazfar was just 8 years old, she was taken from her bedroom in the middle of the night with her little sister, Sara, to be violently abused and left for dead in the woods.
In 1987, Sayeh and her siblings were separated from their father after their parents' divorce because her mother, Patricia, was given full custody. The major problem in this scenario was that Patricia suffered from alcoholism and was physically abusive toward her children, namely Sayeh, quite often.
Patricia would often expose her kids to strange men that she would meet and bring home after a night on the town. One of these men would change everything in Sayeh’s world. His name was Ray Wike.
“He was the worst of them all,” Sayeh recalls of her eventual abductor, Ray. "And it became a very scary situation with him."
Patricia kept Ray around longer than most of the other men and he initially tried to win over her kids with toys and treats. Things quickly turned abusive though, when he would take Sayeh aside and physically abuse her.
Sayeh stayed silent about the abuse to protect her siblings, but after about a year, Patricia eventually moved on to another man and left Ray.
In September 1988, Patricia headed out to the bar one school night and left her kids at home with her new boyfriend. In the middle of the night, Sayeh was awoken by Ray coming into her bedroom and carrying her out of the house. After going back in to fetch Sara, Ray told Sayeh that he was taking them to see their mother.
Only Ray had no intentions of taking the girls to meet their mother. And what would eventually take place with these little girls was unimaginable and completely horrific.
