Serena Williams Writes About Her Mom Struggles And Starts #ThisMama Hashtag For Moms Everywhere

There's nothing quite like becoming a mother for the very first time. A lot of those early motherhood moments are surprising, overwhelming, and even downright scary. And when you're deep in the trenches of puke, poop, and other bodily fluids, it's easy to feel all alone.

So when successful, beautiful celebrities like Serena Williams post about having a hard time, it's deeply reassuring. It proves that all moms — even the famous, glamorous ones — have hard days sometimes! No matter how much money you have, your kid might still throw up on you during a flight.

Yes, that happened to Serena — and the 36-year-old tennis player recently tweeted about the experience.

"Kids humble us," the first-time mom wrote. "The other day on a flight home, Olympia insisted on running up and down the aisle, and when I finally got her to sit still, she threw up all over me."

Serena accompanied her stressful story with a hashtag, leading many women to share their own tales about motherhood. Scroll through to learn more about Serena's new mama movement!

Serena and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, became parents in September 2017. They named their baby girl after her daddy, but she goes by her middle name, Olympia.

And while Olympia, like all babies, can be a little messy — OK, a lot messy — she’s also totally precious.

And Serena is really loving being a mom!

Airplane struggles and all.

So many other moms heeded Serena’s call for stories about motherhood.

They talked about their own airplane-specific struggles, as well as other hilarious mom adventures.

Other stories confirmed that, yeah, your kids can still make it to college in the future, even if they refuse to wear clothes now.

But even through the toughest times, moms wouldn’t change a thing.

This isn’t the first time Serena has been there for fellow moms. She’s opened up on social media before about her struggles with postpartum emotions, being a working mom, and breastfeeding.

And every single time, Serena's honesty brings her millions of followers and fans — many of whom are moms just like her — together.

"I’m here to say: if you are having a rough day or week — it’s ok — I am, too!!! There’s always [tomorrow]!" Serena wrote in an August Instagram post about her postpartum struggles.

We absolutely adore the tennis superstar's candid, honest, and supportive attitude about motherhood. You rock, Serena!
