Catherine Violet Hubbard used to catch butterflies, but she would always let them go. She had a stuffed purple mouse she was given after surgery that she carried with her everywhere. And she loved nothing more than riding on the back of a horse.
When this amazing 6-year-old lost her life in the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, her parents were overwhelmed with the outpouring of love. In trying to think of the best way to honor the memory of their precious daughter, they asked for people to send donations to the animal center in Newtown, CT. But they never could have imagined what that would lead to. I was so touched watching this video and learning about Catherine's legacy. I hope you are, too! Because of Catherine, lives will be saved. This story leaves me in absolute tears.
