Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have caused so much damage to the Southern coast of the United States that people from all over the country are looking for a way to help. Military personnel have been deployed to organize the relief effort in the wake of the storms.
Airmen Lauren Durham and Michael Davis were just two of those soldiers, and they happened to be deployed at a moment's notice. But there was one problem: they had planned their beach wedding for the second weekend in September, which was when they were supposed to assist in the rescue.
At first it was a joke. The couple played around with the idea of getting married during Hurricane Irma. Then, it finally happened: the no-frills, makeshift ceremony took place, and the bride and groom even wore their fatigues!
If you’re looking to help the victims of the recent hurricanes, consider donating to the Red Cross, or take a look at these eight ways you can lend a hand.

Hurricane Irma has devastated many parts of Florida, and rescue efforts are currently underway.
Military personnel have been deployed to help in the rescue efforts and to organize the rebuilding of many areas.
Among these soldiers are Air Force National Guardsmen Lauren Durham and her now-husband Michael Davis.
The two were supposed to get married on the second weekend in September, in a beautiful beach wedding. They learned about their deployment at the last minute. They had everything planned, and Lauren had even been looking forward to wearing her flowing princess gown!
Considering they couldn't make it to their own wedding, a friend suggested the two get married during Hurricane Irma. At first, it was only a joke. But it wasn't long before the couple decided it was actually a good idea.
In a makeshift, impromptu ceremony, they were wed in their uniforms. The bride didn't wear makeup, but she carried a small bouquet of flowers.
The husband-and-wife team love their job, and didn't even think about asking for the day off to get married.
Lauren even says that, as much as she loves she loves the dress she picked out, she also loves her fatigues!
What a memorable way to get married! But hopefully this couple will eventually be able to have the ceremony of their dreams!
Please SHARE to congratulate this military couple on their new status as man and wife!
