An Australian man named Jason van Genderen wanted to give his beloved mother the best Mother's Day possible in 2020, despite the pandemic.
Since so many businesses are closed around the world, gift options are more limited than ever. Some lucky enough to have the time and energy have discovered a newfound sense of creativity during the lockdown. Jason seems to be one of those people.
His mother, Hendrika has both Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. He wanted to help bring back some memories for her on Mother's Day, but he also wanted to do what he could to dazzle her and the rest of their family.
Jason remembered how his parents used to take him to the Sydney Aquarium as a little boy. It was their annual tradition as a family. And it sparked an awesome idea.
"This time we thought we'd bring the aquarium home for my elderly mum!" he told Newsflare.
With a little help from his family, Jason lined the windows of the house with baking paper and set up two projectors that beamed ocean life imagery onto the glass.
The result is a truly beautiful experience, and when the curtains were raised, it was clear to see how much Hendrika enjoyed her big surprise.
