Dad Is Walking Bride Down The Aisle, Suddenly He Says ‘I’ll Be Back’ And Bolts Away

Brittany Peck spent most of her life torn between two men. It's a different kind of "love triangle" then you may be used to, as the men are Brittany's stepfather and birth father.

Her birth father, Todd Bachman, fought for custody of Brittany when she was 6 years old. After the divorce, her mother remarried Todd Cendrosky. Bachman and Cendrosky did not like each other, but they both very much loved Brittany. She was their little girl. Eventually the mom and birth dad would split joint custody of their beloved daughter.

"We did not get along; we tolerated each other," Cendrosky said. "That's probably the best way to describe it."

In 2015, things came to a head when Brittany was planning her wedding. Which of the men would have the honor of walking Brittany down the aisle?

"I felt like maybe I needed to just… [pick]. It was really, really tough," Brittany recalls.

Eventually, she chose her birth father, but on the wedding day things didn't turn out the way she had planned. As Bachman was walking Brittany down the aisle, something came over him. He bolted.

"I said, 'I'll be back.' And that's when I walked down the aisle, grabbed Todd and said, 'Come on,'" Bachman said.

Bachman ran over to Cendrosky, grabbed him by the arm, and the two fathers rushed down the aisle. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and Bachman knew he couldn't let Cendrosky miss out.

"He said, 'Hey, you had just as much a part of this as I did. You're going to come and help me walk our daughter down the aisle,'" Cendrosky remembered. "And that's when I lost it."

Each man hooked an arm around Brittany's, and the rest is history.

"It meant the world to me. It was the happiest moment of my life walking down the aisle with both of them," Brittany said.
