Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin are divorcing.
Jennifer filed for a divorce on Friday after 25 years of marriage to the actor.
The former model filed a petition "for dissolution of marriage and other relief" at a court in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Sylvester and Jennifer have been married since 1997. The pair had been romantically involved since meeting in 1988. The end of their marriage comes as a shock to fans who believed their love was forever. That's especially true because they had just celebrated a big anniversary.
The Rocky actor even posted a tribute to his wife to mark the occasion. "Happy 25th anniversary to my amazing wife," he wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of the two of them and a horse. "There is not enough words to describe what this incredibly selfless dedicated , patient, woman has meant to our lives and I only wish they could be another 25! Thank you sweetheart!"
He shared a series of images of the two of them from over the years in the post. Jennifer also posted a tribute to her husband, which has since been deleted.
The couple have three children together: Scarlet, 20, Sistine, 24, and Sophia, 25. Sylvester also has a son from his first marriage to Sasha Czack. His oldest son Sage, whom he had with Starlin Wright, died in 2012.
Sylvester said that he and his estranged wife are committed to handling their divorce in the best way possible. "I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues," he told People magazine.
