Makeup Artist Mom Impresses By Transforming Her Daughters Into Characters For A Full Month

Clever parents everywhere are coming up with some incredible ways to make their kids' favorite holiday special. One Minneapolis mom, Michelle Scrivner, completely won Halloween 2020 with the amazing transformations of her two girls — Lily, 11, and Ellie, 6 — whom she worked with for the entire month of October.

Michelle is a super-talented hair and makeup artist, and her girls seem to love playing along. She's been making them over into characters like Ursula, Edward Scissorhands, and even stars like David Bowie for every single day in October.

Not only are the pictures absolutely stunning, but it also looks like so much fun for her girls, too. They are absolutely owning some of these characters. Michelle has been taking to Instagram to share all the incredible looks, and we just can't get enough.

Many families are avoiding trick-or-treating this year, which is probably for the best because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has deemed it a "high-risk" activity. Michelle Scrivner says her family won't be taking part in the holiday tradition, either, due to her husband's asthma, which puts him at a higher risk. Luckily, she came up with a fun, safe alternative.

The makeup artist's efforts are totally paying off! Not only has it been tons of fun for her girls, the images are majorly impressive. Now they're gaining traction all over the internet. Michelle even spoke to Good Morning America about the characters, saying, "It's a great way for us to bond and share something special together."

What makes her artwork even more interesting is that the characters she chose are somewhat off the beaten path. Yes, there's Ursula from The Little Mermaid and other characters her kids surely know. But many of them are ones we haven't seen in awhile — ones her girls don't even recognize. "A lot of [the characters], they don't know who they are because they're not old enough for the movie, but we like the makeup," she said.

Still, kids generally love getting dressed up. What could be more fun than getting to do it every single day the entire month? While the rest of us are just trying to get one costume together, this clever mom is kind of killing it when it comes to making Halloween memorable this year.

The big day isn't that far off now. The girls, of course, know what they're going to be on the 31st. On Halloween, Lily, Ellie, and the whole family will dress in Day of the Dead-themed group costumes.

It looks to us like these creative costumes would take all day. But Michelle says they take her only about an hour to complete. The girls must really love it enough to sit still while their mom turns them into the daily characters.

This year, people are coming up with all kinds of inventive ways to make Halloween special. From throwing socially distanced outdoor gatherings to Zoom parties and candy luges, we're learning that there are tons of ways to celebrate. Still, many people are totally yearning for the main event — trick-or-treating.

Luckily, parents are stepping up in so many amazing ways. Michelle has definitely inspired us to put a little extra effort into Halloween this year, too. Chances are, there will be a ton of people snagging these costume ideas.

All month long, Michelle has been sharing the costumes on her Instagram page, BlowDryDreams. It's really hard to pick a favorite! But this Martian Girl makeup is downright epic.

There are still a few days of fun, decorating, and amazing costumes to try on before Halloween is over until next year. While this year will definitely be different, clever parents everywhere are doing everything they can to make it memorable.

As for Michelle's girls, we're guessing they will never forget the year they got makeovers every day for the whole month of October.
