Tarek El Moussa and wife Heather Rae Young are expecting their first child together!
The couple made the happy announcement this week, sharing with People that Heather got pregnant in the middle of in vitro fertilization treatments.
"It was a huge shock," she told the outlet. "We just weren't expecting this. We had just gone through IVF. We had embryos on ice. We had a plan. I think when you least expect it and there's no stress in your life, the world just brought us what was meant to be. I'm so excited that it happened like this."
The couple shared the news with People exclusively this week. Then, Heather posted pictures the couple's pregnancy photo shoot to Instagram. She captioned the photos: "Surprise!!! Baby El Moussa coming early 2023!!"
While Tarek shares kids Taylor, 11, and Brayden, 6, with ex Christina Hall, this will be Heather's first baby. Heather is thrilled to be expecting, though she also says she loves being a "bonus mom."
"When we first started dating three years ago, we went into our relationship not planning on having children together," she says. "I really love being a bonus mom to Taylor and Brayden. They're such incredible kids and I love them so much."
"But as your love grows more and more and you fall deeper in love with someone and you build this life together, I started picturing myself having a child with Tarek. I started thinking I just wanted to create something with the man that I'm in love with."
Tarek is sharing in Heather's joy. "I'm just obsessed with my kids," he said. "They're my everything, so having another one is just icing on the cake. I'm so excited."
Heather also shared that Tarek is "such a good dad" that she can't wait to see him become a dad again. "That was another reason why I wanted to create something with him. Seeing him with Taylor and Braden, he's just so obsessed with them. And he's such a doting, amazing dad. I can't wait to see him with our baby."
Because this is Heather's first pregnancy, she's not used to all of the bodily changes that come with it. She says Tarek has been incredibly supportive with helping her get used to her changing shape, and that "he's just been so positive and making me feel so beautiful and special."
While Heather isn't a biological mom yet herself, she seems to be surrounded by mothers. "I just can't imagine not having the support system," she said. "And that's when you really realize how important girlfriends are, and having such a supportive husband. And my mother and my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law and my sister, they're all moms so I have such great support in my life."
