Teen Boy Creates Powerful Anti-Cyberbullying PSA To Show The Real Harm Of Harsh Words

Sadly, kids today no longer have to worry about just being bullied at school. The tragic victims of mindless, ignorant hate who already have so much to deal with while trying to learn can't even find solace at home, thanks to technology. Of course, tech isn't inherently bad. Sometimes it can even be used to help rebuild their confidence through the kindness of strangers. Unfortunately, it can also be used by tormentors to continue their harassment from behind the screens.

This cowardice is known as "cyberbullying," and countless kids and teens feel like they have nowhere to hide from the never-ending abuse. Mean kids can hide their identity with anonymous usernames and spread their cruelty at any time of the day. Finding the strength to rise above horrible actions of others is no easy task, especially at such a young age. Teachers and other adults do their best to keep the situation under control, but there's just no way to monitor the immature and awful things these children inflict on each other on a 24-hour basis.

The best we can hope for is inspiring others to change their ways. That's exactly what Luke Culhane, a 13-year-old from Ireland, is trying to do with his incredible short film. Throughout the PSA, he shows exactly how harmful the words can be to those receiving them on the other side of the screen. With each new message, his outer injuries reflect the pain he and so many others endure inside.

Watch the incredibly moving video below to learn more about this important cause. No child deserves this anguish, inside or out.
