Dads And Their Kids Asked Each Other A Simple Question With Tearjerking Responses

Never be afraid to tell someone you love them. So much in life goes unsaid, but you may one day regret not telling family or friends that you loved them.

Writing and filmmaking company Echo Storytelling Agency created the #TellThemNow campaign that seeks to open communication between dads and their children. As part of the experiment, the company asked ten fathers and their children to participate in a short video and ask each other one simple question. The result is powerful and surprised even the participants.

The children, who range in age from elementary students to grown adults, start first and ask their fathers, "Dad, what about me makes you proud?"

The responses get very emotional, as the dad's open up to their kids.

"Vulnerability and gratitude can crack us open in the best of ways," Echo Storytelling Agency wrote in the video caption.

Next, the kids reveal why they're grateful for their dads. Cue the waterworks, as one woman confesses to her aging older father, "I'm grateful because we didn't know how long you were going to be with us. We're so happy that you're still here."

We hope it will inspire you to pick up the phone and call your dad and tell him why you're proud.
