Teresa Giudice is facing criticism over her 9-year-old daughter's birthday outfit. Many commenters called the outfit too "mature" and even "inappropriate" for a 9-year-old.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has four daughters; the three oldest are Gia, 17; Gabriella, 14; and Milania, 13.
Teresa's youngest daughter, Audriana, turned 9 last weekend. So naturally, the Giudice family celebrated with an over-the-top birthday party.
Audriana's party featured a three-tier pink cake fit for a wedding, a full dessert buffet, and a giant hot pink "9" balloon. In photos of the party, Audriana looks like she had an amazing time. However, many commenters couldn't see past her outfit.
The birthday girl wore a crop top that showed her belly button, with a keyhole cutout on the chest. She also appeared to be wearing a full face of makeup.
In response to the outfit, commenters accused Teresa, 46, of pushing her daughter to grow up too fast.
"Let kids be kids," one commenter wrote.
Teresa Giudice's youngest daughter, Audriana, just turned 9 years old.
"Happy Birthday to my beautiful @audrianagiudice8 hope you enjoyed your party today Love you, Mommy ❤️ #9 #friendsparty #happybirthday," Teresa captioned one photo of the party.
She posted several photos of the extravagant birthday party, including all the very pink 9-year-old-girl swag.
And a dessert buffet.
Audriana looked like she had a great time, along with her sisters — Milania, 13; Gabriella, 14; and Gia, 17.
But Teresa's photos caught a lot of flack. People were shocked by Audriana's outfit.
The 9-year-old girl wore a belly-baring crop top with a keyhole neckline, and she also appeared to be wearing makeup. A lot of makeup.
Commenters accused Teresa of pushing her daughter to grow up too fast.
Many of the critics were fellow moms, who claimed that they'd never let their kids wear such a "mature" outfit.
"Let kids be kids," one commenter wrote.
But others disagreed with the critics. They feel that little girls should be able to dress up for fun if they want to.
"She's dressed no differently than any of the young dance team or girl athletic groups you see in competition," one commenter said.
"I'm almost certain that she doesn't go to school dressed like this," the commenter added.
Other people said that fans shouldn't be picking apart a little girl's clothes at all, regardless of their feelings about the outfit.
And with a mom like Teresa, you can't blame Audriana for wanting to dress over-the-top for her party.
But criticism is inevitable when your mom has 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
It's not easy being a Giudice!
