For many people (including myself) sports isn't just a form of entertainment. For some, it's an institution of knowledge, a source of bonding with one another, a great love. The love (or hate) of certain teams can even be the foundation for some people's relationships! I know my girlfriend and I spend many a Sunday bonding over football. Such is the case of Adam Carruth and Stephanie Paulasek, a couple who are huge fans of the Texas Rangers, a Major League Baseball team. And it was one trip to the Texas Rangers dugout (the team's bench area) that changed their relationship forever.
The Rangers organization, in partnership with Robbins Brothers, came up with a special surprise for the couple — specifically for girlfriend Stephanie Paulasek.
She and a friend were invited to Globe Life Park, the Rangers' stadium in Arlington, Texas.
As they climbed the steps from the team's clubhouse in the their dugout, she was blissfully ignorant to the surprise that awaited her.
Standing there, waiting for her in the middle of the dugout was her boyfriend, Adam Carruth, surrounded by cameras.
She was instantly taken aback, her eyes widening, but when she saw the ring box in his hand, she was completely floored.
"You make me the happiest person alive," Carruth said to her. "Will you marry me?"
