The Internet’s Falling In Love With This Animated Boy And His Dog

Jake spends most of his time playing video games on the living room couch. He refuses to go outside or socialize with the other kids in his neighborhood. One day, his frustrated mom decides to give Jake an unexpected present, hoping it will break him out of his shell and get him outside in the sun.

When Jake opens the cardboard box, out pops an adorable three-legged puppy. Despite his disability, the pup has an incredible spirit and wants nothing more than affection and attention. But just wait until you see how Jake reacts to his newest furry sibling…

Based on a comic strip by Fabio Coala, and directed by Jacob Frey, "The Present" is a short film that has won awards at festivals across the globe, from Italy's Cartoon Kids Award to the Grand Prize for Best Animation at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Now, the filmmakers have decided that it’s finally time to share "The Present" with the rest of the world… and I'm so glad they did. I won't give the ending away, because it's simply too good.

If this story doesn't pull at your heartstrings, nothing will.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy "The Present" — and then SHARE it with your friends on Facebook!
