Meghan Markle’s Dad Speaks Out About His Daughter’s Alleged Feud With Kate Middleton

After a short respite of silence, Thomas Markle is back with more to say about his estranged daughter, Meghan Markle.

This time, Thomas spoke to multiple reporters about Meghan's alleged feud with Kate Middleton. He's not at all happy to hear some of the accusations against his daughter.

"I'm very upset by the criticism Meghan is getting," the 74-year-old dad told the Sun. "I don’t think she deserves it and I don’t think she is doing one-third of the things she is being accused of doing.”

However, Thomas acknowledged that he still doesn't have any contact with the Duchess of Sussex, so he can't be sure what's going on. In fact, he told the Daily Mail that he doesn't "recognize" the Meghan of the press.

"The Meghan I know was always sweet, kind, generous. She was always demanding but never rude," he said.

Prior to the interview, Kensington Palace had published a rare statement debunking one of the feud rumors.

Thomas Markle has been estranged from his daughter Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, for quite some time now. But despite their lack of contact, he never ceases to offer up his commentary on her life.

Most recently, Thomas spoke out about his daughter's alleged feud with her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Rumors about the feud have been brewing since late last year.

For example, one report said that Kate was upset over how Meghan treated Kate's staff before her wedding to Prince Harry.

Another report claimed that Kate was "left in tears" after a fitting for her daughter's bridesmaid dress ahead of Meghan's wedding.

Many of these reports paint Meghan as the rude villain, and Thomas is not on board.

"If there is any animosity between Meghan and Kate they should put their differences aside," he told the Sun.

He added that he doesn't think Meghan deserves the criticisms she's getting and that the allegations are likely false. He doesn't "believe that Meghan is trying to hurt [Kate] in any shape or form."

With that said, though, Thomas reportedly has no way of getting in contact with his daughter. The two haven't spoken in months.

"I cannot call Meghan and say, ‘What is going on? How can I help you?’” he said.

Thomas told the Daily Mail that he was surprised to hear the rumors because they don't sound like the old Meghan.

"I don't recognize this person," he admitted. "The Meghan I know was always sweet, kind, generous. She was always demanding but never rude."

Still, he reiterated that he's been "frozen out" by his daughter and is worried about her supposed change in behavior.

“I don’t pretend to know what she’s like now,” he said.

“She bends the rules. She’s good at that. But this acting up is new. She’s never been rude to me before. I can’t believe I’ve done anything severe enough to be treated this way by her.”

The rest of the interview covered a wide range of topics. Thomas claimed — as he has before — that the press lies about him and portrays him in an unfair light.

"People make things up and my daughter and her husband believe the lies, the one thing they told me never to do," he said.

He also shared old Christmas cards and letters to demonstrate how close he and Meghan used to be.

This was Thomas' first Christmas without any contact from his daughter.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex spent the holiday with the rest of the royal family, where she and Kate appeared to be quite friendly with one another. The two duchesses walked side by side, talked, and laughed.

By then, Kensington Palace had debunked the rumors of a royal feud.

The statement from the palace was an extremely rare one. The staff generally never even acknowledge press rumors.

This time, the palace clarified that the report about Meghan mistreating Kate's staff was completely false.

"This never happened," a Kensington Palace spokesperson said.

However, the palace wrote that it won't be drawn into any additional reports. Meghan's dad, of course, is an entirely different matter.

The royal drama is truly never-ending.
