Afida Turner is traveling through the stages of grief. On December 8, 2022, her husband Ronnie Turner died from complications of colon cancer at the age of 62. Just five months later, her mother-in-law Tina Turner died of natural causes at the age of 83. Both losses are devastating and hard to process, especially so close together.
Afida is coping by traveling the world. In Los Angeles, everything reminded her of her deceased family members. She is also hoping to become a mother so a part of Tina and Ronnie will live on. Ronnie froze sperm for her as a gift before he died.
Afida is currently in Egypt. "My heart is destroyed," she explained. "My life in Los Angeles became a nightmare — a real nightmare. That's why I got the [expletive] out of there. No house, no furniture. Just my memories and Ronnie's clothes."
Afida is coping with some dark thoughts. "It was very sad that Ronnie passed, and then his mom passed six months after,” she stated. “It is very difficult for me because people only see the music or the pictures, but I go back home and scream the names of my loved ones. [That pain] will never go away. I'm trying not to lose my mind."

Afida hopes to continue to honor her late husband by bearing his child. "I'm going to have Ronnie's baby!" she gushes. "If I can. I'm 46. But we'll see." No doubt Tina and Ronnie would think this news is simply the best.
