When 6-year-old Sam Adams went fishing with his grandfather, he had no idea he was going to make one of the most memorable catches of his life!
The 47-inch-tall, 43-pound little boy is an experienced fisherman. His grandfather, Don, takes him out fishing every summer in the Outer Banks. But even though little Sam knows his way around a fishing line, he's never had to fight something this big before!
With his grandfather shouting encouragement, the older man refused to help the little boy. Little Sam was struggling, but with those helpful suggestions he finally managed to pull in a 41-pound 46-and-3/4-inch long striped bass without any help from anyone else!
The catch was weighed in at Jingles Bait & Tackle, and when all was said and done, little Sam got the second place prize out of over 600 in the regional fishing tournament!
Congrats to little Sam, and to his amazing grandfather for teaching him how to fish!

Six-year-old Sam Adams felt a HUGE bite on his rod. After a lengthy struggle he was still pulling with all of his might!
But when all was said and done, he somehow managed to reel in a fish that was just about as heavy as him!
The fish was almost exactly as tall as the six-year-old fishing star. This is definitely going to be an amazing memory for the whole family!
Not too bad for a day on the beach!
