Treehouse At The Edge Of The Woods Is Actually A Classroom For Young Students

If you were like me as a kid, you desperately wanted a treehouse in your backyard. That, or you were one of the lucky youngsters to have that as a reality!

Movies and TV shows were constantly showing us how much fun it would be to have the rustic hideaway for secret club meetings or when you just feel like getting some space for yourself. For the students at Northwoods Fine Arts Academy in Sand Springs, OK, the new abode on the school ground will be a place for both fun and learning.

It's always amazing to see educators embrace a more creative approach, like the first-grade teacher who allowed her students to design a one of a kind dress for her to wear on the last day of school.

This newest addition to the academy was initially brainstormed by one of their teachers, Amy McAllister and her husband Kevin. They then received a grant from the Sand Springs Education foundation which provided them with enough funds to make the idea come to life.

They also got some help constructing the bare-bones house from Boy Scouts working on their Eagle Project as well as plenty of parent and teachers volunteering for the hard work in the hot summer months.

With walls that the kids are free to graffiti, binoculars by the windows, and windows placed lower for the youngest students, this will definitely be everyone's new favorite spot.

Take a look to hear more about the design below.

And be sure to SHARE the amazing classroom with your loved ones!
