Especially if your parents have been by your side since you were born, moving away from them can be incredibly emotional.
We've seen quite a few students look back on the emotional journey they've taken with their parents from the start to the end of school, and new college student Charles Brockman III is one of them.
Charles, who is off to Mississippi State this year, has had his father by his side since Day One. When Charles posted an emotional photograph on Twitter, news stations all over the country picked it up.

This is Charles Brockman III. Charles graduated from high school this spring and is headed off to Mississippi State this year for college.
Charles is a track star. He won all these medals between his freshman and senior years of high school. He'll be on the track team at Mississippi State. According to Fox40, he plans to study broadcast journalism and communication.
Through everything, Charles' parents have been by his side. They drove him to his track meets and supported his dreams from the beginning.
After moving into college, Charles shared an emotional pair of photographs. One picture shows his dad walking him to his first day of kindergarten. Next to it, Charles added a photo of his father helping him move into college. The pictures, both taken by Charles' mom, look so similar. They showcase how much Charles has grown — and the incredible bond he shares with his loving father.
Charles' sweet post caught people's attention pretty quickly. Even his new school was touched by it.
And strangers' hearts were warmed by the love between Charles and his father. Their bond served as a sweet, touching reminder of all the good things life has to offer.
Charles' mom, Sherry, got involved online as well, expressing how proud she is of her loving husband and sweet son. She must be one amazing mother.
