The wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz was one of the most highly anticipated celebrity events of recent times. However, what happened behind the scenes was far from a fairy tale, as an unexpected lawsuit revealed the chaos that threatened to disrupt this regal affair. Revealed in court documents, the chaos behind the scenes included a series of disputes between family members that threatened to overshadow the day.
The new suit claims that Nicola berated planners for asking her husband-to-be, Brooklyn Beckham, for input.
According to Page Six, Nicola allegedly said, “I do not trust Brooklyn with this,” in a text message about a planning inquiry, included in the suit. “U should be asking an assistant. He has no idea. And is guessing.”
In a few other places in the suit, Brooklyn makes another appearance. According to Page Six, he asked if security planners could “get those guns that shoots a net” … “Because there’s probably gonna be drones [launched by the media]."
However, Nicola was more concerned with the guest list. According to Page Six, the suit says, "Nicola was adamant about not inviting certain politicians to the wedding, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis."
The suit also claims that more than $100,000 was spent on Nicola’s hair and makeup for the wedding.
The new suit is part of a legal battle between Nicola's family and wedding planners Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba, who were hired just six weeks before the wedding and let go nine days later.
The Peltz family claims the wedding planners refused to return a $159,000 deposit. The new allegations made in the countersuit by Nicole and Arianna claim breach of contract by the Peltz family.
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz first met each other in August 2016, while attending the same birthday party. The two had both been invited by mutual friends and were immediately drawn to one another upon their introduction. They were married in front of friends in Palm Beach.
