Sisters Veronica, Lynette, and Teresa kept a pretty big secret from their mom. Their parents, Anne and Ian, were married in 1977. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year, aptly named the "Ruby Anniversary."
The sisters weren't there for their parent's wedding, but there is one thing they do know about: although it was full of love, it was sparse in material things.
Anne and Ian could not afford a grand ceremony. There was no band, no dress or tuxedo, and no big church — just the couple, their loved ones, and a sheet cake.
The three sisters decided they wanted to give their beloved parents the wedding they could not afford four decades ago. Anne thought she was getting ready for a fancy dinner, but her daughters insisted that she open up the garment bag hanging on the cabinet door.
When Anne unzipped it, she shrieked: "No!" The mother saw that it was a wedding dress and was in utter disbelief.
"I can't wear a wedding dress, I am already married!" She exclaimed.
The three daughters explained to her that she can't get married, but she can renew her vows. Anne was elated and brought to tears. The sisters dolled her up and escorted her to Ian, who was also all dressed up. They renewed their vows at the same hotel in which they were married.
