Training a puppy can be one of the most difficult things you'll ever do. It'll certainly test your patience, and your tolerance to pee pee puddles will get higher than you ever thought imaginable after you look into those adorable puppy dog eyes.
But if you know how to train your dog, the whole process becomes so much more manageable. There are tricks to the trade, much like all other difficult tasks out there. For instance, you have to know when to discourage behavior that seems cute and playful while the pup is teeny and harmless, because once that dog gets big and strong, those adorable nibbles can cause harm! This is not to say your sweet dog wants to cause harm — you just have to know how to teach him what is acceptable play and what isn't!
When this little girl goes through some typical dog training motions with her adorable Newfoundland puppy, everything's going smoothly with the "sit" command. The little girl successfully gets the pup to sit and feeds him his deserved treats. She also throws him his toy as an added bonus.
But then, when she tries to get the toy back to play a bit of fetch, this pup is not having it. She starts to chase him all around the yard until Mom stops her and tells her one thing.
This really makes you wonder: Who's really training who? Seems like the pup's got the upper hand, here!
