I can’t imagine anything more beautiful than spending a week or two on vacation in a cottage that looks like an illustration straight out of a fairytale!
Fortunately, if that sounds like your cup of tea too, there’s now a beautiful destination for everyone inclined towards whimsy and cottage-living.
In Cornwall, England’s sunny southerly peninsula, there’s a pristine little vacation rental that fits the bill to a tee.
Much like the beautiful little farmhouse tucked away near Nashville, this is one of those spots that’s simply ideal for getting away from it all.
Available through Unique Home Stays, it’s a darling thatched cottage, with a handkerchief of tumbling green garden, and a to-die-for cliffside view.
Best of all, it sleeps a family of four for a trip with the kids, or can accommodate just two for a slightly more romantic jaunt.

To be perfectly honest with you, if it were up to us, this trip would be worth making for the exterior alone.
This cottage, with its clean white walls, perfectly thatched roof, and whimsically crooked chimney, might be a watercolor painting it's so perfect!
You hardly need to use your imagination at all to picture it as the cottage from Hansel and Gretel or Snow White.
Inside, the distinct impression of magic continues.
The living room is cozily stocked with comfy rugs and squishy chairs, and is even fitted with a fireplace.
On a cold winter's evening, it would be heaven to read a book by a crackling fire in that grate!
Upstairs, things are similarly adorable.
The ceilings throughout the house are low, meaning that the rooms are unfailingly snug.
On the second story, the peaked roof adds to the vibe, and the bed is tucked right up under the eaves, with tons of soft and snuggly throws and rugs all around.
Meanwhile, the bathrooms are a spectacle in their own right.
The upstairs bathroom comes with a farm-style vessel sink, and is also fitted with a clawfoot tub.
The tub, in keeping with the whole house, looks like a spot to luxuriate and relax.
The downstairs bathroom is not equipped with a clawfoot tub, but it's no less charming.
One wall is taken up with a blackboard-style painting, carefully etched with equations and numbers for a schoolroom feel.
We'd also like to point out that unique toilet, clearly inspired by an old-fashioned outhouse, but with modern plumbing!
According to the profile on Unique Home Stays, the house was built in the late 1700's.
The heart of the historic home is a more modern addition, a conservatory and sunroom space that lets in plenty of light.
In an venerable old cottage like this one, sometimes you need to make modern concessions to let the light in!
Outside, things are as perfectly fairytale-esque as you could hope for.
Cornwall has a mild and fairly sunny climate, unlike many other parts of the British Isles, resulting in a lush and beautiful pocket of garden perfect for enjoying a warm weather breakfast!
The lovely flower garden even turns into a tiny patch of lawn liberally speckled with wildflowers.
Oh, and before we forget, this is the view!
Yes, those Cornish cliff sides are really something you have to see to believe.
