Old Tenants Trashed Their New Home. What They Achieved In Just 30 Days Is AMAZING!

It’s hard getting your footing when you’re a young adult.

Snagging a good paying job straight out of college is challenging enough, so owning your own house only seems likely if you were to build it from the ground up with your own two hands.

But many people in their 20s and early 30s can’t even afford the building costs. Because of this, many people that age opt to rent. Yet, even though they’re leasing their space, they still want to take pride in the place they call home.

Reddit user, chazlar, is one of these kinds of young adults. He didn’t have the means to own his own apartment, in fact, he couldn’t even afford high rent, but he still wanted to be surrounded by a comfortable space.

He found a landlord willing to offer a deal. The landlord would offer lower rent if the Reddit user would fix up a previously trashed apartment and take care of the yard.

It only took 30 days…

This is the catastrophe he got in return for low rent.

The tenants before him defaulted on their rent for six months before they were evicted.

Apparently they didn’t have much respect for themselves or the people who would live in this apartment after them.

Yet, he didn’t let this discourage him. After cleaning up all the garbage, he began with the entry hallway.

He discovered that under a bunch of poorly glued-on tiles was beautiful hardwood flooring.

“This little entry way took more time than the rest of the place due to all the glue on the floor,” he admits. But efforts certainly paid off.

Next, he peeled the popcorn off the ceiling.

Though the process was a pain, the fruits of his labor resulted in a clean canvas to work with.

His floors were in dire need of a little love.

He sanded them down until they were smooth and looked brand new.

The kitchen needed to be completely revamped.

After he tore off the cabinet doors, he moved on to the kitchen floor, peeling back linoleum and replacing it with fresh tiles.

Next he got a few 1x2s, then glued and clamped them all together.

He used the wood as new countertops in the kitchen. He also added new cabinet doors.

Once the counter was stained, a new sink and oven were added.

He also built some custom-made shelves.

The bathroom also got a little love.

The end results are pretty stunning. To think someone did this with no experience and in only 30 days!

The shelving is rich and offers a ton of storage space.

The small dining room is quaint but a massive improvement over the heap of garbage that was there before.

The bathroom's change in appearance is night and day.

The living room is comfortable, modest, and contemporary. It’s a place anyone would be proud to call their home.
