Step Inside This Charming Wooden Cottage In Rural Massachusetts

There really is nothing like the serene atmosphere of the countryside.

When planning for my next trip away from home, I'll be sure to look for a lodging that is situated somewhere deep in the mountains, or maybe somewhere near a beautiful, sparkling stream.

Airbnb host Denise offers exactly this experience. In her listing online, she shares a tour of her cottage, dubbed the "Silo Studio," a curiously shaped wooden cottage located on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires, a mountain range in western Massachusetts.

The tiny home is incredibly popular with guests who love to venture into the outdoors, and who want nothing more than to spend a few days (or weeks!) unplugging from the rest of the world.

Just like this one-of-a-kind jungle hideaway along the coast of Brazil, the wooden cottage is perfect for anyone who appreciates natural scenery and a quiet, rural lifestyle.

With a distinctive roof shaped like a medieval castle turret, the curious round cottage is located on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires, a mountain range in western Massachusetts.

It was first built to be a sculptor's summer studio, but the two-storied home has since become a popular getaway destination for guests.

Most notably, the cottage has a very soft, relaxing, and romantic atmosphere.

Also known as the "Silo Studio," the space is equipped with a simple kitchenette area with a wet bar, a mini fridge, a coffeemaker, coffee, and dining tables.

The bedroom has windows that overlook the trees, the lily pond, and the babbling brook below.

There's also a cute little bathroom downstairs, complete with a shower space.

Denise has noted that because the rental has become so popular over the years, they've opened it up for the winter, and made the extra effort to winterize the home for colder months.

Guests can spend their days inside the quiet home, or venture outside to the nearby Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble, an open-space reservation, for hiking.

In the summer, guests can also go kayaking along the nearby rivers!

There is also a stone bench seating area right outside the home, complete with a chimney and firewood, so that guests can cook up a delicious barbecue during the summers.

Most guests love the gentle, rural, and idyllic character of the environment surrounding the cottage.

Originally, the land around the home was made mostly up of agricultural conserved land, and was the site of one of the first settlements in western Massachusetts.

Today, the cottage sits among several historic homes in the region, including those of a beautifully preserved Shaker settlement.

But the most incredible part of the whole experience was the generous hospitality that the hosts showed.

"The listing was just as described," wrote Stephen a recent guest at the home.

"My girlfriend and I had a great weekend staying in the Silo Studio. When we first arrived, Denise met us with fresh flowers for the room, and a bottle of wine!"

Sounds absolutely delightful! We hope that you enjoyed stepping inside this home as much as we did.
