He Discovered These Old Bricks Under Weeds In His Yard. How He Used Them Is STUNNING!

The older I get, the more I yearn for a beautiful backyard. I dream of the day I'll look out my kitchen window and see a sparkling pool, a sprawling garden, and a smoking grill.

Unfortunately, it looks like that backyard won't be mine for a few more years to come. But hey, a girl can dream!

In the meantime, I enjoy bookmarking all the amazing ideas I come across. From fancy coolers to outdoor kitchens, my fantasy yard is bursting with cool features.

And now I can add one more great idea to the list: a brick fire pit! I've always loved hanging out with friends beneath the stars, and something like the fire pit featured below would make it twice as fun.

When Imgur user Login777 noticed how wildly overgrown his backyard was, he started clearing it out. That's when he discovered something surprising.

Beneath the thick ivy laid an old brick patio. Evidently, an arbor once sat upon it, but it had been ripped away 15 years ago by a tornado.

When he uncovered the entirety of the patio, he decided to put the area to use: He was going to build a fire pit.

After digging out a hole in the brick, he placed a 48-inch hardboard within.

Within that, he placed a 36-inch hardboard.

He poured the concrete between the two hardboard pieces.

Then came the fire brick. After marking where the bricks should go, he began to stack them.

After mortaring the fire brick, he began to lay the first rows of face brick.

He continued with the other layers, leaving squares of space for ventilation.

Finally, he reached the top rim of brick.

Once it was mortared, the lines were grouted out.

Any gaps in the patio floor were repaired with the original bricks he pulled up.

Now, after about two weeks of work, the fire pit patio is complete. His family is sure to enjoy outdoor fun for years to come!
