The Skinny House in Boston is 6.2 feet at its smallest width and a mere 10.4 feet at its widest. It's also 30 feet long. The house is so strange and small, the owner often hears couples bickering outside of it.
Wives will tell their husbands it's a real house while their husbands will argue it's an annex — who could possibly live there?
Local legend says the home is actually a spite house. The urban legend goes that two brothers inherited a plot of land from their deceased father.
One went off to fight in the war, while the other stayed. When the soldier returned home, his brother had taken most of the land and his share of the inheritance.
To get revenge on his greedy brother, the soldier built his house on the sliver of the remaining land to block the sunlight and view. Some people are just so petty! All these years later, it makes for a fascinating tale.
Instead of rooms next to each other, they're on top of each other. In fact, the kitchen is only 3×5 feet. The small home is now on the market again for a whopping $890,000.
The only thing more unbelievable than the outside of this "spite house" is the inside. See just how tightly packed this house is in the video below!
