He Saved 1,156 Bottle Caps To Create A Totally Unique Tabletop

A lot of us consider things like bottles, cans, pallets, and jugs as garbage. We toss them out and never think of them again.

But other more resourceful folk look at these throw-away items and see diamonds in the rough. They see them as materials or the bases for an amazing piece of furniture, decor, or art — like one man who made a gorgeous American flag mural using just Budweiser beer bottle caps. It truly embodies the idea that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Imgur user pecoswilliam is one of those creative souls who sees something more in everyday objects. He embarked on a really cool DIY project that is beautiful, thrifty, smart, jaw dropping. You have to see this to believe it!

Best part? He wasn't the first imaginative do-it-yourself devotee to craft something of this type. Lots of other have done their own versions as well, and the results are spectacular…

First he built a basic coffee table out of plywood.

Then he distressed the wood.

Next he leveled the surface.

Once sturdy, he stained the table.

After the stain dried, it was time for the fun part.

Then he glued 34 caps by 34 caps along the perimeter.

The end result is a coffee table covered with a total of 1,156 beer caps.

He covered his creation with glass.

He’s not alone, either. Others have also attempted the time-consuming task of creating bottle cap tables.

Some prefer a more angled design.

Others are more whimsical.

Then there are those who like to show their patriotic pride.

A few like to pour their creativity into the center for their bottle cap table, like this one DIYer who used a barrel.

And finally, some designs don’t even utilize the entire surface, leaving some of the wood on the table present.

Whatever your preference, it is an eye-catching project!
