There's nothing better than waking up in the morning and making a nice big breakfast. Personally, I'm a huge fan of omelets.
In my household, we go through eggs pretty quickly. I always try to be very conscious of where my eggs are coming from. I like to look out for labels such as free-range or pasture-raised in order to support farms that raise their animals in a humane environment.
Many people take it a step further by raising hens of their own and having homegrown, fresh eggs right in their backyards. Many communities are accommodating those that want to have their own hen houses by updating laws and ordinances.
One DIY-er from Instructables decided to build a hen house of his own and it fits perfectly in his backyard.

The DIY-er started with a good number of two-by-fours to build the basic frame for the hen house.
A helper is definitely recommended to assist with lining up each piece and securing them together.
Next, he sorted out the lumber.
He used wood from some old garage cupboards. So, a few of the boards were warped.
Next, he began to plan out the nest box details with a little help from his fuzzy friend here!
He determined that the box would be 12 inches in all directions.
He also decided this would be a good time to add a roost to the front of the nest boxes.
The clever DIY-er also made sure to leave room for food storage.
Some upper shelves were also added for additional storage.
The design of this hen house is secure, weatherproof, and leaves plenty of space for its future inhabitants.
Lastly, the doors were mounted and a nest box was attached to the siding to house the hens' water replenishment system!
After all of his hard work and creativity, the project was complete!
This safe and roomy hen house is open for business!
