As a cat lover, I am constantly on the lookout for ways to make my favorite pet even happier.
Fortunately, there seem to be an endless amount of DIY projects out there to help increase cat comfort, like this lovely homemade cat hammock.
And when I spotted this idea for turning a broken tree into a beautiful cat playground, I knew I wanted one for my own home.
Upcycling projects like these are so impressive because they can turn a piece of trash into something incredible.
I found this project from Imgur user kjepper, who upcycles a useless piece of wood into a stunning cat tree. And from the look of the cats climbing on this DIY-er's project, they really enjoy this amazing creation.

When a neighbor had to have an old dying tree removed from their yard, this DIY-er offered to transform it into something incredible.
This Imgur user started on a cat tree for their neighbor's pets by cutting it down to size and removing the outside layer of bark.
It took power-washing, a chisel, and a belt sander to truly get the tree down to the desired smoothness.
The results were absolutely stunning, and ready to be shaped into a cat playground.
This DIY-er painted the tree white and created a box to keep it stable and standing upright.
They then made platforms for the cats to rest on, each consisting of a base and a cushion.
For the cushions, they wrote that they used 'some leftover soundproofing foam,' providing the cats with a comfortable spot to sit.
The DIY-er then upholstered each of the ledges with lovely heart-covered fabric.
They also added rope around portions of the tree so that the cats could use it for scratching (hopefully instead of using the cushions).
The Imgur user then 'sewed a plaid around a flexible rim to create a relaxing hammock between the two branches.'
The final results were absolutely beautiful, and this DIY-er's neighbor was happy to include this cat tree in their living room.
The pets quite quickly took to the tree and enjoyed jumping from level to level.
With this incredible new place to play and relax, these cats seem quite content enjoying this DIY-er's donation.
