Now that the holidays are in full swing, we bet that you are busy getting your home nice and festive for the season. For me, one of the most fun parts of the holidays is getting to trim the Christmas tree with ornaments.
Every year, no matter how many ornaments are already on the tree, it always seems like you can squeeze on a few more — whether you buy them or make them yourself.
Being a huge fan of DIY projects, I love scoping out all of the cool and creative ways that people decorate for the holidays.
There are plenty of easy DIY holiday projects that don't require you to shell out big bucks for fancy materials.
In fact, some of them can be created using stuff that you already have in your home, like clothespins.
Clothespins are already a big crafting staple; they can hold things together in a super cute way and give any project a bit of a rustic twist.
In this case, they can also be glued together to create little snowflakes that would look perfect hanging all over a Christmas tree.
This project requires very few materials, and you will be stunned by how beautiful the results are. They will seriously give store-bought snowflakes a run for their money.
Check below to see how easy it is to assemble them. You will definitely want to make an ornament for everyone on your list, along with 10 more for yourself.
1. Gather Your Materials
2. Gently separate the clothespins and remove the metal clip.
3. Paint the clothespins with white acrylic paint.
4. Arrange the pieces in a snowflake shape, shown below.
5. Grab your glue gun.
6. Glue the painted pieces together like this:
7. Next, glue the ends of the conjoined clothespin pieces.
Finish sticking the ends together until the snowflake shape forms.
8. Attach ribbon or twine to the back of the ornaments so you can hang them on the tree.
Hang and enjoy your beautiful homemade creation!
