With a lack of space for living room blanket and pillow storage  as well as limited sofa seating  this DIY-er decided to create a one-of-a-kind storage ottoman that was soft enough to sprawl out on.

They began the base of the ottoman using plywood and pine boards.

This Instructables user writes, "I wrapped the outer side of the box with batting, folded it over the top and bottom edges, and secured with staples."

They added a wooden divider to the bottom of the ottoman, before covering the batting with cotton fabric. They write that the fabric was necessary "because the coffee bags have a very open weave that you can see through."

This DIY-er then lined the inside of the ottoman with shiny black fabric, adding a layer of cardboard on the bottom and stapling the edges of the fabric to the wood underneath.
