To save tons of money on new flooring, the first thing this DIY-er did was clean her floor. She then painted the entire area with a color she wanted the grout to be. After she was done painting, she made grout lines with tape.

She then got contact paper and marked a tile with her tape. Then she began to swirl acrylic paint inside the tile area.

Next step was taking a plastic grocery bag filling it with some air, and then twisting the top, so the air was secured inside.

After she let it dry, she peeled off the tape and put several coats of polyurethane over it.

She then began to fit her faux marble on to her floor, cutting the paper to fit around the “grout.”

The end result looks like actual marble thanks to the polyurethane that deepens the color and adds more depth to the marble.
