After coming across some old pieces of barn wood, this DIY-er decided to upcycle the materials into a bench for his backyard.
The bench seat had an interesting knot in the middle that looked like an island, so he decided to cut into the wood to create the shape of a running river.
To give the bench a unique edge, this clever DIY-er decided to make the river glow!
He began by mixing up 5 grams of glow powder and a half pint of epoxy.
He poured the mixture into the river section of the bench seat and, as you can see, it creates a beautiful bluish glow!
After everything cured, he sanded down the sharp edges and moved on to the base of the bench.
He began by using pocket hole screws to join the bench seat and the simple frame of the base together.
To make sure the seat legs were sturdy enough, he ran a piece of lumber under the bench perpendicularly.
The last step was simply to let the sun do its job by "charging up" the glowing river.
This DIY-er says everyone that has seen his glow bench in action loves how much character it adds to his backyard.
