There's nothing worse than pulling your winter sweaters out of the attic to see that they're filled with moth holes, or that they've gone totally out of style.
Or, maybe your sweaters shrunk to a super-tiny size in the dryer, and this life hack to un-shrink clothing just isn't cutting it. What can you do?
Fortunately, you don't have to throw away or donate your old, comfy sweaters the minute they shrink or pill or go out of style — you can repurpose them into something even better.
These adorable DIY projects are at the top of my to-do list this winter, and I knew I had to share them. I can't wait to cozy up with my worn-out sweaters and some needle and thread.

With mismatched old sweaters, cut them into squares and turn them into a quilt! This DIY-er picked up blue, cream, and gray sweaters from a thrift store for $1 each, and shrunk the sweaters in the dryer before cutting them up and sewing them together.
Turn an old sweater that doesn't fit you anymore into a cozy and warm knit hat. To make a hat, measure the circumference of your head and cut five different panels 1/5 the circumference and sew them together with a sewing machine!
Sweaters make great scarves, but this braided scarf is especially interesting. Cut a sweater into three long strands and braid them together loosely, finishing them off with a fuzzy pom-pom.
What better way to cozy up your couch than with a sweater pillow? Just cut your sweater into two large squares and sew them together around a throw pillow. Don't forget to add a cute button for embellishment!
This navy blue sweater makes for the cutest laptop bag. This DIY-er just cut the shape she wanted out of the sweater, sewed it together, and lined it with a fun, brightly patterned fabric!
Give your flower vases a wintry twist with an old sweater! Just slip your vase through the sleeve of your sweater and cut it to fit.
A striped red sweater makes super comfy slippers! All you need are two pieces of felt, and a needle and thread.
With just some scissors and thread, an old sweater can be turned into a snug ear warmer.
Keep your feet toasty with socks made from an old wool sweater. Just cut the sleeves off of the sweater, and sew a line where you want your toes to go!
Put an adorable patterned sweater to use as a bangle bracelet. This DIY-er covered an old bangle with a strip of the sweater and sewed it around the bracelet.
You can add a little bit of flair to your flowerpots with a colorful sweater. To make this DIY, cut a part of the sweater sleeve and stretch it around the pot.
You might not be able to fit into the sweater anymore, but your dog can! Keep your pup warm by making them their own sweater.
There's no need to buy winter mittens when you can make them out of an old sweater, by simply cutting out the shape and sewing them together.
You can make a whole bunch of totally unique flower brooches from some shrunken sweaters and a pin back from a local craft store.
Each of these unique sweater upcycles is cooler than the last.
