Wrap Orange Yarn Around Your Hand And Tie With Twine To Make An Adorable Fall ‘Pumpkin’ Garland

For many people, the end of summer feels like a long waiting game for cooler weather, cozier outfits, and tasty fall foods!

If you ask people what their favorite season is, a significant number will say autumn.

And it makes sense. Fall weather is perfect for wearing an array of clothes. Autumn is the best time for outdoor activities, and it's the best season for home decorations!

From colorful leaves and rotund pumpkins to spooky Halloween skeletons and gravestones, when it comes to decor, fall is far superior to other seasons.

The biggest problem with changing your home's design according to the changing weather, though, is how expensive it can be. But instead of spending tons of money on decorations this year, make your own adorable DIY pumpkin garland out of just a few simple supplies.

This pumpkin garland will leave your family and friends in awe of your crafting skills — and you don't need to tell them how simple it was!

Supplies

  • orange yarn
  • twine
  • green pipe cleaners
  • scissors

Instructions Step #1: Wrap Yarn Around Hand

To begin making your yarn pumpkins, wrap the orange yarn around your hand.

It should be tight enough to stay in place but not so tight that it's uncomfortable.

Step #2: Tie Yarn Together

Once you have enough yarn on your hand, pull the entire bunch of yarn off your fingers in one movement.

Taking another small piece of yarn, and tie a knot around the "pumpkin."

Step #3: Cut Green Pipe Cleaners

Next, take your green pipe cleaners and your scissors, and cut the pipe cleaners down to size.

Each pipe cleaner piece should be about 3 inches long.

Step #4: Tie Pipe Cleaner To “Pumpkins”

Now it's time to add the stem to your pumpkins.

Thread a piece of green pipe cleaner through the pumpkin, then fold it in half.

Step #5: Tie “Pumpkins” To Twine

Weave twine between the two halves of the pipe cleaner.

Then twist the pipe cleaner back around the twine to make sure it stays in place.

Step #6: Hang Pumpkin Garland

Repeat all the previous steps multiple times until you have enough pumpkins to make your garland.

The garland can be whatever length you want, but it should probably be a few feet in order to hang properly.

Use nails, hooks, or thumbtacks to hang your garland on the wall.

Step #7: Enjoy!
