Brighten Your Easter Celebration With A Peeps Centerpiece

As Easter approaches, there are lots of ways to add touches of spring around the home. It's the perfect time of year to get inspired to create your own beautiful decorations that bring pastel and bright colors that go beyond the typical Easter basket, tulips, and dyed eggs.

For me, I can't really celebrate Easter without those magical, sugar-coated marshmallow candies known as Peeps. So this year, I wanted to create an adorable table centerpiece using Peeps that's easy to assemble and edible, too! Whether you want to fill it with Peep Chicks or Bunnies, there are plenty of colors and options to make this simple, yet special idea for your Easter celebration.

There's no doubt this candy centerpiece will put a smile on faces young and old alike. Plus, the greatest part is that it will double as a dessert once dinner is finished.

Follow the step-by-step guide below to see just how simple this is to make.

1. First, fill a container with water and add several drops of green food coloring. Mix.

2. Roll the wooden craft rods into the mixture until they are completely green.

Let sit for two minutes. Then dry off on a paper towel.

3. Poke the wooden rod into the styrofoam ball, at about the center.

4. Poke five toothpicks into the styrofoam ball, about an inch apart from each other. Insert them about halfway.

5. Stick one Peep onto the center toothpick. Then, continue with the other toothpicks.

You want to make sure the toothpick goes through the center of the Peep through his head, so it'll be more stable.

Continue with a second and third layer of Peeps, using the same method, and packing them in tightly to avoid too much white space. Work your way around, alternating rows of Peeps — and colors — until the entire ball is covered.
