Repurpose An Old Umbrella Into Beautiful Spring Decor

Spring is upon us, and if you're like me, you're ready to freshen up your home with some cheerful and fresh decorations that'll brighten your home.

This year, I decided to bring the phrase "April showers bring May flowers" to life by jazzing up my home with an umbrella floral door decoration. It's such a beautiful and easy way to decorate without using a wreath. The spring decoration is so bright, sunny, and welcoming. Plus, it takes less than five minutes to make!

The possibilities to customize this project are virtually endless! I decided to repurpose my bright teal umbrella and choose to buy white tulips. This craft can be done with artificial flowers, but I choose fresh spring flowers. (As I'll explain later, I decided to use Aquatubes to ensure that my beautiful tulips didn't die in a few days without water.) It's just so wonderful to smell the flowers every time you walk by.

Follow this simple tutorial to make one of these gorgeous umbrella door decorations for your home.

Materials:

— Umbrella (must have a curved handle)
— Fresh flowers
— Aquatubes
— Ribbon
— String

Prior to starting, prep the flowers by trimming stems and removing any excess leaves.

1. First, fill an Aquatube with water and insert a flower.

Repeat until all the flowers are finished. (Note: If you have fake flowers, you can skip this step.)

2. Tie and knot a string around the flowers to keep them tightly bundled together.

3. Carefully insert the flowers into the umbrella, and arrange to your liking.

4. Using ribbon, tie a bow around the middle of the umbrella.

Make sure the ribbon is tight, because this will keep the flowers from slipping down into the umbrella once it is hung.

Now it's ready!

The final product is so pretty and welcoming.

This was so much fun to make! I seriously can't believe how beautiful it is with so little effort.
