Every garden deserves its fair share of TLC.
Recently, Imgur user scottfehr decided his garden was due for an upgrade.
He already had a nice deck, and a fire pit down below. However, he had no walkway to use to travel easily in between the two.
So, he embarked on a new project, to set a clear backyard walking path. This stone path would wind through the grass, protecting the surrounding lawn from matting underfoot.
He started the project laying down lots of sod. Once his sod was set, this DIY-er chose the perfect stones for his path. Three thousand pounds of lugging later, he finally had the makings of a beautiful stone walkway.
To take his project to the next level, this DIY-er decided to line this new walkway with lights. Now, his family's evening outside twinkle beautifully.

Imgur DIY-er scottfehr recently got to work, laying a new stone pathway in his backyard.
This process, as many of these garden walkway processes do, started by laying down heavy bunches of sod.
Luckily, this DIY-er had his 15-year-old son helping him with the wheelbarrowing, which made this task easier than it might have otherwise been.
Sod in place, they started laying out the walkway stone.
This DIY-er chose to use Cowboy Coffee stone in his design.
Lugging all 3,000 pounds of this stone home took four different trips, but, eventually, they set every piece in its rightful place.
While many folks use crushed rock or sand to level their stone walkways, this DIY-er decided to use three-way top soil.
This way, he can grow Irish moss in between the gaps.
Once the stone was set in place, this DIY-er decided to add a special detail to his walkway.
He dug a trench alongside its perimeter, to fill with LED lights.
He ordered customized, LED lights to line his path.
He chose these "eyebrow" lights because their light dispersion most suited his aesthetic.
With a cute little stone step positioned leading from his patio down to his new path, this DIY-er's new walkway was complete.
Now, his guests will have an easier walk in between his patio and the fire pit below.
He plans to add flowers alongside the path, but that's another project for a different day.
Thanks to this DIY-er's handiwork, he now has a delightful little stone walkway in his backyard.
