Couple Transforms Search-And-Rescue Helicopter Into Cute And Cozy Home

Forget your traditional steel rods and floor plans — these days, it seems like anything can be turned into a home!

Converted homes, like this dream camper, are super cool to see because they are basically being recycled to become something new and exciting.

And so much more than cars can be converted — super creative people have made homes out of sheds, school buses, churches, and even airplane parts.

But we've never seen a whole huge helicopter get turned into a house until we saw Martyn and Louise Steedman's summer home.

After winning it in a bid online, the couple brought it out to the country and got to work transforming it into the ultimate "glamping" vacation house while maintaining its amazing exterior.

Check below to see photos of this amazing summer spot. It will make you want to abandon your traditional cabin or beach house in exchange for an amazing aircraft.

Martyn and Louise Steedman put in a bid for a Royal Navy search-and-rescue helicopter online, and it ended up that no one put in a counter bid.

And once the giant helicopter was officially theirs, they decided to do something unexpected with it.

The massive Sea King ZA127 aircraft was retired in 1994, then used for naval training until 2002.

It was then moved by the couple to the outskirts of a village in Mains Farm Wigwams in order to serve an entirely different purpose.

They decided to turn it into a unique summer "glamping" home!

Martyn explained, "We couldn't bear to see these much-loved helicopters go on the scrap heap and thought, why not give one a new life in the country?"

Its original dashboard is still intact, with the roof panel switches and foot pedals still around for people to pretend to fly with.

The cockpit has been refitted with swivel chairs and a little round table so that guests can lounge while they pretend they are flying through the air.

The rest of the chopper looks completely different than it used to when it functioned as an aircraft.

It's been insulated, wood paneled, and painted, so it almost looks like the inside of a big boat.

It has a double and a triple bed as well as a single bed, located in the tail's end.

That means that it's big enough to fit a family of six!

They're hoping to start offering it for guests to stay in by spring of next year.

With all the tanks, trucks, and aircrafts that have been turned into shelters, it seems like, these days, almost anything can be made into a home!

For this family and their aerospace accommodation, it seems like the sky's the limit.

The space will also serve as the ultimate hangout spot for their two sons, Josh, 13, and Harry, nine.

"When dad told us what he had bought, we thought he was joking. We can't wait for our first night on board," said Henry.
