Missy Stephenson is heartbroken. With her husband recently injured in an accident and her two sons preparing to leave the nest for college, her family now must sell their now-viral home.
From the outside, Missy's 3,000-square-foot home in Buda, Texas, looks normal enough. It has a stone facade, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms, and it sits on 1.5 acres of land.
The real estate listing agent, Tyler Shelton, posted photos of the home's interior that were then shared on Reddit to a page titled, "Awful Taste But Great Execution."
As it turned out, Missy's house was hiding a whimsical secret. Images of the very unconventional interior spread online. One Twitter user even called the home a "rococo Precious Moments nightmare."

Whether you agree with the critique or not, one thing's for sure: Missy poured her heart and soul into designing her home. After she and her family moved into the house, she spent three tireless months painting it entirely bubblegum pink, complete with intricate murals of hearts, polka dots, and animals. Everything inside the house is covered in her signature whimsical designs, from the kitchen appliances to the furniture to the toilets and everything in between. She says she drew inspiration from Mackenzie-Childs, a retailer known for its bright and colorful hand-painted home goods… and boy, does it show.
Missy has spent many nights crying over the thought of someone gutting it. Instead, she hopes the next person who moves in will "just feel that joy and love when they see it or have it in their home."
Ever since the photos went viral, the listing agent says he's been getting a ton of calls about the house.
