Now that Halloween is over, it's time to get excited about the other amazing fall holiday: Thanksgiving!
Unlike its spooky fall counterpart — which is all about scary costumes, frightening haunted houses, and sugary treats — Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks, being with the ones you love, and celebrating the time you have together. It's also a perfect time for kids and craft-lovers to bust out their supplies and make something in the spirit of the day.
Thanksgiving isn't the same without fun fall decor and a beautiful festive place setting, so this is the perfect time to try out those ideas that you have been pinning and saving months in advance.
If you have some cute little mini pumpkins leftover, as well as some fall leaves and craft felt fabric, you can easily make the most festive turkey that is perfect for a kid's craft project. Not only is it adorable, it is a great way to get kids involved in the process leading up to the big day.
While everyone is planning place settings and whipping up a tasty Thanksgiving dinner, your kids can be working away at something cute that can be displayed around the house or on the table for dinner. (Just make sure they have an adult to supervise with the gluing and cutting.)
Check below to see how to make these cute turkey centerpieces. They will surely be a hit with all of the family members on Thanksgiving.
1. Gather your materials.
2. Apply hot glue to craft pumpkins and stick leaves on the back to look like feathers.
3. Trace an outline for the body on brown felt fabric, then cut.
4. Trace outlines for the turkey's wattle and beak, then cut.
5. Glue the turkey's body, wattle, and beak to the pumpkin.
