Walking into your home can make you feel comfortable, happy, and relaxed — you might think this is because home is a safe place, but there may be more to it than that.
Your house's decorations and colors may actually have an enormous impact on your mood. One of the color experts from Valspar, Sue Kim, explained to CountryLiving that the shade of your walls can greatly affect your emotions and mood.
You might think that an extremely bright paint color will make you feel happy and energized, but very bright colors may actually be overwhelming to your senses.
Sue explained, "Nature and memories trigger our emotion into happiness, so finding a color that reflects your moment of happiness is the best way to connect with a color.
"I would recommend making an image collage of photos and magazine clippings on a table and then see if there is a color that takes you back to a moment of happiness. Often we assume happy colors would be bolder hues, but for some of us, a quiet place with softer tones provides a moment of happiness."

1. Sky Blue Paint
Sky blue paint will give you a sense of renewal. The light, airy quality of a light blue paint is calming and relaxing.
According to CountryLiving, blue paint can provide restorative and soothing qualities, which can help with productivity, sleep, and well-being.
2. Silvery Sage Paint
A light grayish paint that combines silver and sage is great for feeling more balanced.
This color is known for its harmony — if you're seeking balance in your life, try painting a room this lovely color.
3. Yellow Paint
A light yellow paint will make you feel happy and cheerful. Light, subtle yellows will give you a similar feeling to being outside in the sunlight.
CountryLiving explains that yellow is a source of positive energy, which will put you in an uplifting mood.
4. Yellow-Green Paint
A semi-bright yellow-green will make you feel positive and energetic, like the first days of spring.
Sue explained to CountryLiving, "Green also brings positive energy into a space and stimulates personal growth."
5. Violet Black Paint
A dark violet/purple paint that is almost black may seem like it would make you feel moody and upset, but this deep violet color can actually make you feel relaxed, like looking into the night sky.
This color of paint can help with reflection and focus.
