Log cabins may have humble roots, but that doesn't mean that people don't dream about living in one someday.
Sure, it may not be as glamorous as retiring in a beachside mansion, but there is something special and incredibly nostalgic about a log cabin.
My obsession with these kinds of structures probably started somewhere around the time I first read the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
It was then reinforced by my family's large collection of Lincoln Log toys, and a little childhood imagination.
Interestingly enough, the way real log cabins are built isn't all that different from the toy version. At least if you don't count the heavy lifting.
It may be 2017 and we may no longer be architecturally restricted building with logs, but that doesn't mean that the tradition should die.
Luckily there are plenty of cabins still standing. With that said, few are more magnificent than this one restored cabin built in 1790 for sale in Bernville Pennsylvania.

From the outside, it's hard to imagine why anyone would want to sell this beautiful log cabin.
Then again, the $649,900 purchase is going to make the next family extremely happy.

According to the property listing, the entire home (including the kitchen) features original wood floors.
The gourmet kitchen is complete with stainless steel appliances that don't take away from the rustic charm, but does mean you could host a Thanksgiving dinner.

One of my favorite parts of this whole house are the exposed beams, which reveal just how authentically restored the property really is.
You can tell its solid construction has held up for many years.

The house has two patios, 5 bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms, meaning that it's plenty big enough for a growing family, or for a cool vacation home.

Even though it would probably be hard to try and leave this home, it is in commuting distance of nearby towns and business centers.

There is no room in this house that doesn't remind you of the history that this 1790 structure holds.
Even the bathroom will take you back in time with exposed timbers. Of course, you still get to enjoy the conveniences of modern plumbing.

The 11.3 acre property has lots more to offer than just the house itself.
It boasts a barn, a two-horse stable and a pasture in case you decide to bring along any livestock.
There is also a beautiful pond and stream that create a truly breathtaking setting and views.
