She Converted Her Old Shed Into A Gorgeous Craft Studio!

When you think about storage spaces — sheds, attics, basements, or garages — what are the first things that come to mind? For most, the answer is usually, "storage," "disaster," or, "Man Cave."

In a sort of "out of sight, out of mind" mentality, we often fill these forgotten spaces with old furniture, unattractive decor, and sometimes even our male counterparts. Rarely are these spaces used in creative, innovative ways.

However, one imaginative shed owner just flipped that outmoded practice on its head — and all because she needed to retrieve some holiday decorations from storage!

When blogger Kelli, of CraftShack, took a trip into her family's forgotten shed, she had a true "lightbulb" moment. Tired of going without a space all her own, and realizing their shed was practically empty, she decided to undertake a very special project.

Now, what was once a forgotten storage space is a warm, charming studio that's just perfect for creating, imagining, and just enjoying a moment of solitude.

When Kelli ventured into her family's shed to find some holiday decorations, she had a brilliant idea. Since the shed was pretty much empty, and very rarely accessed, she decided it should be put to better use.

Eagerly, Kelli turned to her hubby and suggested a conversion. He simply replied, "Why not?" So, they got to work!

Thankfully, Kelli and her husband had some happy helpers.

Well, they had some helpers for a little while at least. (The kids didn't stick around too long.)

Figuring she could utilize the space between framing for shelving, Kelli decided to forgo drywall. The particle board got a coat of fresh white paint, while the ceiling became a soft lilac.

Once the paint was dry, they moved on to the flooring. They used adhesive vinyl tiles, which were easy to install.

Next, they installed the counters. These were trimmed in the same lilac as the ceiling.

Shelving and accent pieces were then moved in.

Kelli filled these up with her carefully-organized craft supplies.

She installed some pegboard, on which she hung more supplies and tools.
