When you think about tiny homes, you obviously think small. That’s exactly what this Aussie couple did when they decided they wanted to move out of their parents’ house.
In an episode of the TV show Escaping Mom & Dad By Going Tiny, this couple goes on the hunt to find a tiny home for themselves that will sit in their parent’s front yard.
Instead of buying a home and spending a lot of money to start out, they decided that building something small would be the best step for them.
They went to a designer (referred to as “Craig” in the episode), and he gave them some options from which to choose.
The surprise came during the big reveal: The pair anxiously stood in front of a tiny home, and as Craig explained the structure’s design, a crane suddenly came into play.
The crane lifted the top of the house, forming a second story that the couple didn’t expect. The design is called a tiny-home popup, and it was absolutely incredible to see it unfold.
The two-story home is just enough space, and it’s so beautifully designed that I don’t think they’ll ever feel like they’re living “small.” I wonder what the parents think!
